Pre-Second Amendment Firearms

I'm endlessly frustrated with those who insist that the 2nd Amendment was written when there were no semiautomatic firearms, therefore we were not meant, as citizens, to have access to anything other than single-fire, short-range muskets.
Unbeknownst to many, there were numerous, more dangerous firearms than the single-shot musket during the Revolutionary War and before the subsequent writing of our Bill of Rights.
There were many repeater Flintlock rifles [and others such as Belton, Lorenzoni, and Girandoni] invented, and known by the Founding Fathers, well before the Second Amendment was penned; one of them, the Chambers gun, could even fire 200 rounds per minute.
Not to mention the fact that both the American Colonialist freedom fighters and the British royal army had access to much more dangerous artillery such as cannons, howitzers, and mortars which were highly effective, catastrophic long range weaponry effective at up to 1500 yards from the intended target.
Our Founding Fathers weren't stupid, and were well-traveled, well-read, and aware of the everchanging advancements of technology, some like Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson being skilled inventors themselves. It is also ridiculously ingenious to suggest they were under the impression that the world would never advance past the musket when explaining the freedoms every American has when it comes to defending oneself.
The people who make this asinine argument when debating Second Amendment Rights are not arguing using realistic terms from a place of understanding regarding firearms of the Colonial times, and have done inadequate research on the firearms and other weaponry available to the public in those days.
If you come across anyone making such claims as, "the Founding Fathers intended the Second Amendment to be for antiquated firearms such as muskets," you need to slap them back into reality with the cold hard truth [links provided below to learn more and arm yourself with knowledge].
